Every plant that leaves our nursery has spent its whole life so far in a controlled, shaded environment — so the first month in a new spot, especially in UAE heat, is the period it needs the most attention.
For the first week, keep a new sapling out of direct, harsh afternoon sun if possible, even if its final position will be full sun. A few days of partial shade lets the roots settle before the plant has to cope with full heat stress.
Water deeply but less frequently rather than little and often — this encourages roots to grow downward and outward searching for moisture, which builds a stronger plant long-term. As a rough guide, check that the soil a few centimetres down is dry before watering again.
Signs Of A Plant Settling In Well
New leaf growth, even small, is the clearest sign a sapling has taken to its new spot. Some initial leaf drop or yellowing in the first week or two is normal transplant stress and usually isn't a cause for concern on its own.
